Cookie policy
This policy explains how SpeechCom Systemutveckling AB, trading as ProfessionalDictation, uses cookies and similar technologies on www.professionaldictation.com. It also explains, honestly and in detail, which cookies are set on your device today, and what you can do about them.
Our store sells to business customers within the European Union only. This policy was last updated on 15 July 2026 and replaces all earlier versions.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They typically contain the name of the site that set them, a value and an expiry date. Cookies allow a site to recognise your browser between page views, so that it can remember things such as the contents of your basket or the language you chose. Some cookies are set by us; others are set by third parties whose services we have embedded in our pages.
This policy also covers similar technologies that read or write information on your device, such as pixels and local storage, where these are used.
Which cookies do we set?
The table below lists the cookies that are set when you visit our store. Durations are approximate: they are the expiry periods requested when the cookie is set, and a cookie may be refreshed and its expiry extended each time you return.

Strictly necessary cookies
OCSESSID, language and currency are strictly necessary to deliver the service you have asked for. They are set by us, they are not shared with any third party, and they are not used to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites. Under the ePrivacy rules described below, cookies of this kind do not require your consent. If you block them the store will not work correctly: your basket will not persist and your language and currency choices will be forgotten on every page.
Analytics and marketing cookies
_ga, _gid, _ga_8TB74WP7GP and _gcl_au are not necessary for the store to work. We use them to understand how our store is found and used, so that we can improve it, and to measure whether our advertising reaches the right business audience. They are set by Google, which acts as a third party and processes the associated data on its own infrastructure, and they can involve a transfer of data outside the EU or EEA.
We want to be clear about how this works on our site at present. These analytics and marketing cookies are currently set as soon as a page loads. We do not at present operate a working cookie banner, and so you are not asked beforehand whether you accept them, and there is no preference centre on this site where you can switch them on or off. We are not going to describe a choice that we do not yet offer. Until that is changed, the way to prevent or remove these cookies is through your own browser or the opt-out tool described in the next section, and we explain below how to do that.
How to block or delete cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you delete cookies that have already been stored, block cookies from particular sites, block all third-party cookies, or clear cookies automatically each time you close the browser. Menu names change between versions, but the settings are broadly in these places:
- Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies, and Delete browsing data to remove cookies already stored.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data, where you can clear data or use Enhanced Tracking Protection.
- Safari: Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy, where you can block all cookies or use Manage Website Data to remove individual entries.
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when the window is closed. Please note that blocking all cookies will also block the strictly necessary cookies described above, and the store will not work properly as a result. Blocking only third-party cookies, or deleting the Google cookies individually, leaves the store functioning.
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, across every site you visit rather than just ours, Google provides a browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Once installed it stops data being sent to Google Analytics. It is a Google product and we have no control over it.
These browser controls are device- and browser-specific. If you use more than one browser or more than one device, you will need to repeat the steps on each of them.
The legal position
Storing information on your device, or gaining access to information already stored there, is governed by the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, which in Sweden is implemented in the Electronic Communications Act (lagen om elektronisk kommunikation). The rule is that you must be given clear information about the purpose of the cookies and must give your prior informed consent before any non-essential cookie is set. Cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly requested are exempt from that consent requirement.
Where cookies involve the processing of personal data, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 applies in addition, and governs matters such as the lawful basis for the processing, how long data is kept and your rights over it.
As described above, the analytics and marketing cookies on this site are currently set on page load rather than after consent. We are stating this plainly rather than implying a compliance position we have not yet reached, and we are working to correct it.
Personal data and your rights
Some of the information in the cookies above, in particular the identifiers used by Google, may constitute personal data, alone or in combination with your IP address. How we handle personal data generally, the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep it, who we share it with and the rights you have as a data subject are set out in our Privacy policy, which should be read together with this cookie policy.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish data protection authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), or with the supervisory authority in your own EU country.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies we use change, and when a consent mechanism is introduced on this site. The date at the top of this policy shows when it was last revised, and we encourage you to check back after any significant change to our store.
