  The microphone in the SpeechMike Premium is isolated from the chassis to deliver crystal-clear recording performance. The innovative microphone suspension ensures that almost no background noise, touch or click sounds, or wind noise are recorded. The technology is taken from studio microphones to reliably avoid all kinds of sound distortion – and to guarantee top results in speech recognition.

• Metal microphone grille

  The SpeechMike Premium has a specially designed microphone grille. The hexagonal holes in the metal grille provide three times more open area than the predecessor, which means crystal-clear recordings.

  The microphone area of the SpeechMike Premium is made of several different layers to achieve the clearest and most true-to-life sound possible. One of the layers consists of fleece above and below the microphone capsule. The fleece filters out disturbing sounds such as clicks and noise, guaranteeing perfect results even when the microphone is held very close to the mouth.

  The SpeechMike Premium is equipped with twice the speaker area of its predecessor, giving playback with crystal-clear and sharp sound.

  The SpeechMike Premium has been designed with three ergonomic zones; it has been tested by users and shown to have the most comfortable fit in the hand. The dictation zone is optimised to minimise thumb movements. The buttons needed for the actual dictation functions are placed in the middle of the device, which guarantees perfect ergonomics and use. Freely configurable function keys for individual customisation.

  Because the back of a dictation microphone is just as important as the front, Philips has taken care to design it so that it fits perfectly in the hand and reduces the risk of accidental use. The mouse button and the command button on the back are designed to sit in exactly the right place.

• Integrated motion sensor

  The SpeechMike Premium is at the cutting edge of technology and comes with an integrated motion sensor, which means it is the first dictation device that can be operated through hand movements. It detects when the device is placed on the desk and switches off the microphone; when it is picked up, the microphone is reactivated.

• Four configurable function keys

  With four freely configurable function keys placed on the lower part of the control panel, the SpeechMike Premium can be adapted to taste depending on the user and application. Work the way you prefer.

• Highly compatible

  Customers can upgrade from their previous SpeechMike model without installing any additional software. For the administrator, this means that no changes need to be made and the existing SDK can be used. The SpeechMike Premium is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, as well as virtual environments such as Citrix, VMware and Hyper-V. It can be configured with SpeechControl, the handy Philips tool for hardware management.

• Antimicrobial surface and buttons

  The surface and buttons of the SpeechMike Premium are made of antimicrobial plastic, which protects against all types of bacteria. Antimicrobial materials counteract a wide range of different micro-organisms such as bacteria (for example pneumococci and multi-resistant micro-organisms such as MRSA), viruses (for example HIV, influenza virus etc.), fungi (for example Aspergillus niger) and algae. The antimicrobial effect of the SpeechMike Premium lasts for at least five years.

• Laser mouse with steel trackball

  The SpeechMike Premium contains a built-in precision trackball made of stainless steel. Self-lubricating and wear-resistant Teflon bearings guarantee good performance, and combined with the laser scanner and self-cleaning features, the trackball is more accurate and has a longer service life than ever before. In addition, the trackball can be removed from the device for cleaning, should that be needed.
