• Free-floating studio-quality microphone

  The free-floating microphone is decoupled from the device housing, ensuring that almost no background noise, touch or click sounds, or wind noise are recorded. The technology is taken from studio microphones to safely avoid any kind of sound distortion – and guarantee top results in speech recognition.

• Metal microphone grille

  The microphone grille has a special design - the hexagonal holes provide three times more open area than its predecessor, which means crystal-clear recordings.

• Integrated pop filter
  
  
  The fleece material inserted above and below the microphone capsule filters out sound disturbances such as clicks and noise, guaranteeing a perfect result even if the microphone is held very close to the mouth.

  The SpeechMike Premium Touch is equipped with an extra-large speaker, giving playback with crystal-clear and sharp sound.

• Ergonomically designed
  
  
  The device is designed to fit perfectly in the hand and to reduce accidental presses on the buttons. The trigger and command buttons on the back of the device are developed to be within reach of the fingers.

• Wear-free slide switch and push buttons

  The SpeechMike Premium Touch is available in versions with either a slide switch or push buttons. The slide switch is wear-free and ergonomically designed with a soft ribbed surface for pleasant tactile feedback and for comfortable and intuitive use. In addition, our engineers have carried out tests in which the slide switch was moved one million times - this truly ensures that the device has an extra-long service life.

• Integrated motion sensor

  The SpeechMike Premium Touch is at the forefront of technology and comes with an integrated motion sensor, meaning it is the first dictation device that can be operated through hand movements. It detects when the device is placed on the desk and then switches off the microphone; when it is picked up, the microphone is reactivated.

• Touch sensor

  The device has a touch sensor. This lets the user easily navigate applications during recording, without having to switch between the mouse and the microphone.

• Polished, antimicrobial housing

  The housing and buttons of the SpeechMike Premium Touch are made of antimicrobial plastic, which protects against a large number of different micro-organisms such as bacteria (for example pneumococci and multi-resistant micro-organisms such as MRSA), viruses (for example HIV, influenza virus etc.), fungi (for example Aspergillus niger) and algae. The polished metallic surface also helps make the device resistant to touch noise and fingerprints.

• Integrated barcode scanner (3800 series only)

  The SpeechMike Premium Touch is also available in versions with an integrated barcode scanner to easily link client or patient data simply by scanning a barcode. The scanned information is automatically attached to the dictation file, streamlining the documentation process. All identifiable information is entered precisely, which contributes to increased security and potential cost savings. See SMP3800.

• Freely configurable buttons

  The SpeechMike Premium Touch has freely configurable buttons that are particularly useful for programming commands for speech recognition software, but can also be used with other applications.

• High backward compatibility

  Customers can upgrade from earlier models of SpeechMikes without having to install any additional software. For software developers, this means that no changes need to be made and the existing SDK can be used. The SpeechMike Premium Touch is compatible with Mac and Windows as well as virtual environments such as Citrix, VMware and Hyper-V. The device can be configured using SpeechControl - the Philips software for hardware configuration.
